Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author was translated, adapted and directed by John Marwick Amber Baldock won an award for Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role at the Wellington District Theatre Federation's full length play competition.  

Ten Times Table

A joint directing effort between John Marwick, Florence McFarland and Will Clannachan brought Alan Ayckbourn's comedy Ten Times Table to the Muritai stage in November 2008. The Taming of the Shrew

From 17 - 21 February 2009 we put on a highly successful outdoor Summer Shakespeare production of The Taming of the Shrew as part of 2009 FringeNZ with an all-female cast. This was the Troupe’s 13th annual Shakespeare production. John Marwick directed David Mamet's hard-hitting two-person play Oleanna.  Publicity 2011 A controversial American adult drama about a university lecturer and one of his young woman students. It’s about how a teacher who misuses his power can seriously damage a vulnerable student. Or maybe it’s about how political correctness can be carried to extremes and damage the lives of well-meaning people. Trials and Tribulations

Trials and Tribulations was a programme of scenes from Shakespeare, loosely based around trials in the various plays. Scenes were chosen and adapted by John Marwick and were directed by a number of people: Lian Butcher, Anna Rodgers, Emannuel E Garcia, John Marwick, Anne Manchester, and Laurence Ward.

The Winter’s Tale

As its 25th annual Shakespeare production the Troupe presented The Winter's Tale for the second time in February / March 2021 (the first production was 21 years earlier). It was directed jointly by John Marwick and Elspeth Cotsilinis. Allen Burne won an Antoinnette Award for Excellence in Acting in the Wellington District Theatre Federation's Full Length Play competition. Macbeth

Muritai School Yard Muritai Road, Eastbourne, Lower Hutt, New Zealand (+64), New Zealand

This was the 28th consecutive year that the Troupe had presented a Shakespeare production - and the second time we have presented Macbeth (previously 2008).  This year's production was Bard in the Yard and the weather gods were favourable with only one night having to move into the school hall. Allan Burne, who played Macbeth, won an Antoinette Award for Excellence in Acting at the annual Wellington District Theatre Federation Full Length Play Competition. The play was presented in a crime family setting. The three witches were described as Three Women and were present on stage during the whole production playing multiple roles. Cast Woman
