Once in a Lifetime, a Hollywood satire by Moss Hart and George S Kaufmann written and set in the 1930 was directed by Paddy Stevens. It had a large cast with some dancing and music. This production was the first to be performed in the newly extended and renovated Muritai School stage. We no longer had to change in the small dental nurses' room and, instead, had a propre Green Room with male and female changing rooms!
Florence McFarlane directed The Poet and the Women was a play based on an ancient Greek play by Aristophanes.
John Marwick directed Harold Brighouse's 1914 story set in Lancashire. At the Wellington District Theatre Federation Full Length Play Competition the play won awards for: Best Decor Best Costumes Best Period Play Best Female Actor - Rowan McRae
Important People, a farce by F Wyndham Mallock from 1932 was directed by Denise O'Reilly.
This was the first time that the Troupe presented Bard in the Yard. John Marwick and Jerry Duckor pulled together and directed a staged reading of scenes featuring some of Shakespeare's women characters. The show was performed in Marwick's garden. No photos or material so far.
For the Troupe's tenth anniversary Florence McFarland and others helped create a revue. Bill Wollerman accompanied many of the skits on the piano.
The second year of Bard in the Yard was scenes from Twelfth Night presented in John Marwick's garden and directed by John and Jerry Duckor. No pictures as yet.
Trevor Rose directed Jean Anouilh's play The Lark about Joan of Arc. The play won an award for Best Costumes in that year's Wellington District Theatre Federation's full length play competition.
