Time for a giggle, a laugh, a shock and a bit of suspense.
Communicating Doors, one of the most popular plays from Alan Ayckbourn, Britain’s much-loved comedy playwright, is a time-travelling comedy thriller. Set in a London hotel suite it spans 40 years from 2032 through the present and back to 1992. As well as Ayckbourn’s wonderful wit and humour, it will get audiences puzzling while genuinely delivering suspense and the odd shock.
It features three women: Poopay, a very timid dominatrix; Jessica, a young wife on her honeymoon; and Ruella, a no-nonsense 45-year old. These three are all related in one way or another to Reece, a wealthy but ruthless businessman, and his associate, Julian. Harold the hotel’s dogged private detective dips in and out of the intriguing plot.
A complimentary glass of bubbly will be offered to those attending the gala opening on the 18th October
Tickets are available from this site now. They will also be available from Rona Gallery, Eastbourne from mid September.
